For Sale in the heart of Gaucin Village - Serrania de Ronda
Authentic Village house reformed in 1997 , with an abundance of character and lots of potential, including the possibility to add a pool in the walled garden. It comprises two traditional houses on a good-sized plot, separated by a shady internal patio, with an access gate to the rear street.
The property is located in a pretty tree-lined street opposite the Church of San Sebastian and not far from the Castle. There is on-street parking nearby, and a few minutes walk away there are a number of small shops, a selection of tapas bars, and several high-quality restaurants.
The living accommodation is simple, charming & homely with a quirky layout and traditional features such as oak beamed ceilings, terracotta floors etc.
There is ample outside space too - as well as the internal patio (a nice cool spot for alfresco dining!), there is a walled garden and two terraces with lovely views across the village rooftops to the Mediterranean coastline, El Hacho mountain, and the Castle of Eagles.
Front House - Rebuilt in 1999 in traditional style (3 Bed/1 Bath)
The antique wood entrance doors open into a long open-plan room with a cosy sitting area with a wood-burning stove, and through an archway there is a spacious traditional Andalusian style kitchen/dining room. French doors from the kitchen open into the pretty internal patio (with a lemon tree!), which provides a link between the two houses.
From the sitting room, a staircase leads to the first floor which comprises a generous double bedroom overlooking the patio, a single bedroom with a Juliet balcony facing the church, and a separate bathroom (‘tubby’ bath). The upper floor comprises a single bedroom and a small sun terrace with lovely views of the village and the iconic El Hacho mountain.
Original Rear House - Extended in 1997 (2 Bed/1 Bath)
The original house has been extended and is across the other side of the patio. A glazed entrance door opens directly into the small rustic kitchen on the ground floor. From here, an archway leads to two small sitting rooms, one with a woodburning stove.
The first floor is split-level and comprises a study/TV snug, a double bedroom and a separate bathroom (with bath). The bedroom is spacious & light with French doors onto a large Juliet balcony with built-in seating overlooking the walled garden.
The upper level also has a double bedroom and a substantial part-covered terrace with lovely 360° views, including to the distant Mediterranean & Gibraltar.
From the ground floor, there is a door into the spacious walled garden with its original cobble-stone paving, and an access gate to the rear street (with on-street parking)
